An excellent first-hand account of the author's experiences accompanying the annual fur trade caravan of Chouteau, Pratte, & Co., leaving Missouri in early May, 1839. He provides an interesting account of this small brigade of 23 during the overland expedition to Ft. Hall on the Snake River, and his return to St. Louis on October 31, 1839. Previous owners bookplate on front endpaper, else a fine, bright copy.
