Copies of twenty seven diaries written by emigrants who had traveled the central overland trail are presented. Of the diaries presented, nine are by women with the remaining eighteen being written by men. Only one of the writers spoke of actual encounters with Indians while a few others expressed concerns in this regard but nothing occurred and they traveled safely. As new, unread copy without dust jacket, as issued.
