First edition. 9 3/4" x 8" oblong wrappers with titles printed in gold gilt on the front cover, n. p. (32 pp.), illustrated from photographs. Saginaw is the Indian name for the "Land of the Sauks." At one time the principal industry was lumbering, but as the pine forests diminished, coal was discovered and then a cheap fuel, the coal was used to attract a variety of manufacturing plants. Views are provided of lumber floating on the Saginaw River, businesses and activity on Genesee Avenue, the post office, the high school, city hall, the library, an immense log jam, manufacturing facilities, the Germain Piano Factory, the Eddy Building, the railroad depot, hotels, the flood on Baum Street, the Masonic Temple, churches, residences, etc. Two sides of front cover sunned, tiny chip to lower corner of rear cover, else a very good copy.
