First edition. Stiff printed wrappers, 88pp., frontis, illustrations, facsimile. In January, 1925, Milt Good was convicted of the murder in April 1923 of H.L. Roberson and W.L. Allison, Inspectors for the Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association in Seminole, Texas. Although Milt claimed that he and Tom Ross acted in self defense, both were sentenced to over 50 years in the Texas State Prison in Huntsville. In November, 1925, Good, Ross, and 2 other men escaped from the prison hospital. Good and Ross traveled through New Mexico, Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington, then returned to Oklahoma. There they separated, with Ross heading north to Montana and Good going to Mexico for several weeks before returning to Oklahoma where he was captured and returned to Huntsville in July, 1926. Good was punished by 16 lashes, then continued to endure prison conditions until he escaped again in October, 1927 and immediately recaptured. Despite his original sentence of 51 years, after 12 years in prison, the efforts of his wife and friends resulted in a pardon for Milt Good. A very interesting account. Very good.
