Here was launched (1869) the first definitive exploration of Yellowstone. Haines has integrated Folsom's 1870 Western Monthly report with reminiscences by Langford in 1834, Peterson in 1900, and Cook & Folsom in 1922. Fine, bright copy in price-clipped and lightly rubbed dust jacket with light to minor wear to the spine ends and corners.
