Seventy-three soldiers who had enlisted to fight the Confederacy and forty-eight members of various militias were killed in Minnesota and Dakota Territory from 1862 through 1865 fighting the Dakota Indians in response to the Dakota Uprising in the Minnesota River Valley in August 1862. Their deaths and burial places are recorded here; many taken from contemporary newspaper accounts. As new.
