First book appearances of the first Merlini story by Clayton Rawson, the first Basil Willing story by Helen McCloy, Stanley Ellin's The Specialty of the House, and a Sherlock Holmes pastiche, The Adventure of the Single Footprint, by Robert Arthur. Also stories by Philip MacDonald, Hugh Pentecost, Brett Halliday, Q. Patrick, and Jorge Luis Borges. The Borges story was translated into English by Anthony Boucher.
