Publication: Dodd Mead & Company, 1967, New York
First edition. Although divorced in 1961 from Brett Halliday, the author inscribed this book in the year of publication to him as follows, "To Halliday and his parents, with love, from Helen McCloy, Cape Cod, January, 1967." Fine in lightly rubbed dust jacket, lightly sunned on the spine, and with light wear to spine ends. Good story which opens with a woman feeling some one is in the room with her, but it's dark and she really can't see anything. Then she hears a faint noise and a door quietly opening and the elevator begins to hum. She runs to the door only to find it still bolted from the inside!
