Original green cloth, titles stamped in black on the front cover and spine, xx [4], 114 pp., acknowledgment, introduction, frontispiece, illustrated from photographs. Most coveted secrets from the chef of San Antonio's oldest private club. The Introduction written by Monte Barrett, details the life of this Southern Colonial mansion built before the War Between the States when it was the home of Charles Anderson and later a temporary arsenal for Confederate troops. Recipes included for appetizers, punches, soups, fish, meats, fowl, desserts, dressings,cookies, etc. Also contains much early history of San Antonio. One of the better copies we have handled as it is a celebrated and useful cookbook. Inked ownership inscription of a previous owner, spine a bit darkened, spine ends, corners and extremities lightly rubbed, else a very good copy.
