The American Catholic Quarterly Review, Vol II, No. 8, October 1877, Hardy and Mahony Publishers, 1877, printed wrappers, v [3], 577 - 768 pp., plus 16 pp. of advertisements. Pages 665-694 contains General John Gibbon's article, "Hunting Sitting Bull." The articles describe the Little Big Horn Battle, how it looked after 48 hours, Crook, Powder River, Sitting Bull, etc. Dustin 117: "A most important work written very soon after the campaign from General Gibbon's diaries. Unknown to most writers and very scarce. Indispensable to the student." Spine of both volumes is reinforced with cellophane tape and a few edge nicks, else very good copies, housed in a cloth slipcase with titles stamped in gilt on a leather spine label.
