Publication: The Old Oregon Trail Association, 1922, Baker
First edition. 5 1/4" x 9" in pictorial wrappers with cover art showing Ezra Meeker with his wagon and oxen. 24 pp., illustrated, eleven maps, poem. The Old Oregon Trail Association was organized in Baker, Oregon, February 23, 1922. The purpose was to perpetuate the name by having that name designated by the states through which it passes, and to permanently mark the road so that its history may be preserved, and serve as a constant reminder to younger generations of the hardships endured by the pioneers. The trail route begins from Salt Lake City, Utah, to Pocatello, Idaho, and with a side trip to Yellowstone National Park, into eastern Oregon along the Columbia River and finally on the scenic Columbia River Highway through the scenic gorge. Minor dust soiling along with a small closed tear at fore-edge on rear cover, else a very good copy. An uncommon automobile travel guide.
