First edition. 5 1/4" x 7" in burgundy boards with title in silver and tied at spine with burgundy cord. 60 pp., illustrations. 2 pages of text offering the history of Charleston, its population in 1900, and information on various points of interest. The text is followed by 58 pages of black and white photographs, printed on one-side only (29 pictures). Pictures include churches, residences, monuments, Ft. Sumter, East Battery, South Battery, Washington Square, King Street, Wentworth Street, Charleston College, Magnolia Cemetery, a harbor scene, Broad Street, Sullivan's Island, aerial view of South Carolina Interstate and West Indian Exposition, etc. Horses, carriages, people, street car tracks in some scenes. No pictures of automobiles. Rubbing to extremities and with some rubbing and wear to spine. Interior clean. An interesting collection of photographs.
