The Sumpter Valley Railway, Oregon's narrow gauge railroad was built during the great days of the lumber barons and was used to haul logs to Baker where they were in great demand by lumber companies. Later the railroad carried gold ore as well for a short time during the bomanza. A good book of Oregon's most impressive railroad. Fine, bright copy in a bright dust jacket with light wear to the spine ends.
