Publication: 1921,

4" x 6" soft leather pictorial wrappers housing 39 leaves, 37 of which contain 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" photographs glued directly to the leaves and showing scenes in Panama and Chili. The first leaf offers a photo of the U.S.S. Montana, 1917. The second page offers a newspaper clipping entitled, "Langdon's Funeral." The remaining leaves offer 37 - 3 1/3" x 5 1/2" photographs to include street scenes of Panama City, park scenes in Panama City, the Ancon Hospital in the Canal Zone, hotels, market place in Panama City, a Panamanian ice man, canal zone near the locks, ruins of Old Panama, La Jura de la Bandera at Parque Ecuador in Chili, Avenida Francia in Valparaiso, the foothills of the Andes in Chili, street scene in Santiago, railroad station in Santiago, the Pacific Fleet making an official call on the President of Chili in Santiago, etc., as well as several photographs of what seems like some sort of festival aboard a ship whereas a man is placed in a chair at the edge of a water tank. Once seated the chair is flipped and the fellow goes into the tank. It appears to be all fun and games. Of the 37 pictures, 5 are faded ... some more so than others. Pictures are lightly soiled and worn. Wrappers are scraped and worn and with a 2 1/2" tear to bottom corner of front wrapper, almost severing the entire corner, but not quite. A wonderful collection.
