Publication: Privately photographed, n d (ca 1885), N P

Oblong small 8vo (6 x 8"). 25 leaves. 50 original black & white photographs (3 1/4 x 5 1/2"); 3 trifold original photographs (3 1/2 x 11 1/2"). The photographs appear to document a trip taken by a group of travelers by train (Northern Pacific Yellowstone Park Line), horses and horse drawn carriages. 7 photographs depict a series of matadors and a bull in the ring. Several photographs are of important buildings in Monterrey including Palacio Municipal, Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady of Monterrey; the Governor's Palace of Nuevo Leon and various local shops, hotels, churches, parks and more. Other photographs depict locals in various activities, horsemen (both locals and visitors), and mountain scenery. One charming photograph (somewhat faded) shows 3 young local boys smiling for the camera. The 3 fold-out photographs (inside front and rear covers) depict several men on horseback on what looks to be a camping excursion. The brown leatherette album has some scuffing; the photographs which are affixed to the leaves are in near fine condition.
