Original cloth, titles stamped in gold gilt on the front cover and spine, dark brown front and rear endpapers, xv [blank], 371 pp., frontispiece, introductory, illustrated with 61 full-page plates, map, Sandford Fleming's Overland Expedition itinerary provided at the rear. George M. Grant (1835-1902) was Secretary to Fleming's Expedition, and later principal of Queen's College, Kingston. This work, his first book, "was one of the first things that opened the eyes of Canadians to the value of the immense heritage they enjoyed."--- Wikipedia. Peel 367 says "One of the classics of Canadian travel." Light wear to the spine ends, cloth lightly worn, else a clean, tight copy in very good condition.
