Publication: League Publishers, Inc, 1933, Chicago

In 1933, the Queens founded and edited a magazine called Mystery League. It ran for four issues before closing shop. This is Vol. 1, issue number 2, dated November 1933. Forerunner of Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine. This issue contains "The Riddle of Volume Four" a novel by Phoebe Atwood Taylor, short stories by G. D. H. and M. Cole, John Marvel, and Henry Wade, "Secrets of Houdini" (Part II) an article by J. C. Cannell, "Drums Beat At Night" (Part I), a serial novel by Gavin Holt, and "To The Queen's Taste," gossip and criticism by the Editor. The magazine contents are presented well and easy to read, and illustrated throughout by Eugene Thurston. Part of first "E" in "Ellery" missing from head of spine, a few small closed tears and nicks to the extremities, internally clean and tight, else a very good copy.
