9" x 5 1/2" printed broadside with an engraved vignette of the Menger Hotel centered at the top. This illustrated handbill for the Menger Hotel praises its amenities, location, furnishings, and restaurant. The engraving shows the hotel before it was renovated in 1909. Teddy Roosevelt raised his company of “Rough Riders” in the bar of this legendary Southwestern institution next to the Alamo. Printed on cheap newsprint, it is very rare for this broadside to have survived, especially in such nice condition. Minor loss to margin else a fine copy.
