Publication: Privately printed, n d (ca 1977), Denver

A seven page folding brochure published by Kohlbergs featuring a page of Indian symbols, and short articles on silverwork, turquoise, Navajo rugs, Kachina dolls, baskets, pottery sand paintings and other collector’s items. Kohlberg’s Antique Indian Store was opened in Denver in 1888 by Mr. Kohlberg who had emigrated from Austria in the 1870s. His was one of the first curio shops in downtown Denver, located at 429 17th Street. Around 1930, Erick Kohlberg moved to Denver to manage his uncle’s shop. Eventually, he became the sole proprietor. In the 1950s. Erick Kohlberg married Paula Ruddick who was originally from Scotland. The couple ran the store until Erick passed away and then Paula continued running it until she died in 1995 at which time it was closed. Very good copy.
