First edition. Oblong 6" x 9" green silk over boards, tied with a multicolored, decorative string, 37 leaves of paper-backed silk samples with a few of the samples with minor fraying and each page stamped with a color code. Stamped on the inside rear cover are the words, "Made in Japan." A colorful array of silk wallpaper samples offered by the Kneedler-Fauchere design company located in San Francisco and still doing business today. Founded in 1948 by Harry and Dorothy (Kneedler) Lawenda, the business would become the trailblazer in revitalizing Jackson Square. The collection of hand-crafted, natural fiber wall-coverings represented here was started by Dorothy Kneedler from the very beginning of the company. A small piece cut from one of the samples and covers lightly rubbed along the underside, else a very good copy
