There are several early photographs showing the city before the storm and devastation caused by the storm. Also the "scrap book" provides much additional information about settlers, sickness during an epidemic, feuds, etc. This book has reprints but it has become scarce in the first edition. Covers are lightly soiled and with a few small spots, the spine is a bit darkened , with light rubbing to the spine ends and corners, else a very good copy.
