Original blue cloth, titles stamped in gold gilt on the spine, front and rear endpapers replaced, xxv [1], 411 pp., frontispiece., introduction, preface, illustrated, plates, portraits, colored folding map, references. Introduction by Right Reverend John B. Brondel, First Bishop of Helena. The author, an old-timer, lived among the Indians for many years, and knew them well as a friend and missionary. Howes P40 says, "History of all the missions in the region, among the Blackfeet, Piegans, Cheyennes and Crows, and in the white settlements of Montana." Cloth lightly rubbed at corners, else near fine copy. Re-cased with original spine laid-down, front and rear endpapers replaced, light wear to the spine ends and corners, else a tight, internally clean, very good copy.
