First edition thus and the only edition of this title. The first paperback edition of eleven of the stories in Bloch's first book, THE OPENER OF THE WAY. The other stories had already been published by Panther Books in a matching format, under the original title of the Arkham House first edition of 1945. Near fine in pictorial wrappers, with cover art by Anthony Roberts. Little known and missing from many Bloch collections. Collection is full of vampires, wizards, madmen, skulls, maggots, etc.
