Volume II: Two-tone brown and tan cloth, titles stamped in gold gilt on the spine, frontispiece [portrait of William Clark], xi [3], 586 pp., illustrated, 3 maps, appendix, index. Minor wear to the covers, else a very good, internally clean, tight copy. A history of the Lewis & Clark Expedition along with a carefully prepared, analytical index by Dr. Hosmer, a feature which the original edition lacked. Hosmer also has prepared an Introduction that gives the events which led up to the great expedition, and the vast development that flowed from it. An attractive set.
