A promotional book to encourage people to visit available lands in Texas, purchase land and to become residents. Woodman wrote this guidebook, one of the first in English devoted to Texas, to serve the purposes of the Galveston Bay and Texas Land Company and their promotion of lands in Texas. Contains a discussion of the various land grants in Texas, speeches and official reports on Texas, accounts of travelers' visits there, and testimonial letters from settlers.
