This is not a Christmas card, but it is a Christmas greeting. First edition. 6" x 9" in tan printed wrappers with brown lettering. Punch sewn at gutter margin and tied with light tan silk ribbon. [12] pp. Illustrations. Scarce Christmas greeting and travelogue of the author’s trip on the USS Orizaba where he took in the sights of Havana, Matanzas, and other sites in Cuba. He enjoyed sailing first class on the Orizaba with the Ward Line on the New York-Cuba-Mexico route, which was very popular during prohibition and was one of the quickest and least expensive trips for “Alcohol-enriched Vacations.” He arrived in Cuba just after the island was digging out from the Category 4 hurricane which struck the island on Oct. 20, 1926. He has included illustrations of Morro Castle, typical Cuban windows, hotel patio, coconut palm, and more. The author was a successful chemist during the 1920s and until the depths of the Great Depression. Light scuffing along with small chip to head of spine on the back cover. Very good.
