Publication: Privately printed, n d (ca 1890s), N P
First edition. 8" x 5" light brown, stiff, printed card stock, 20 pp. An uncommon ephemeral piece, it lists the rules and regulations to "be furnished to the Commander, Officers, and Engineers" of the vessels of the Anglo-American Oil Co. A British affiliate of John Rockefeller's Standard Oil Trust, the company was founded in 1888 and its main business was the transportation of lamp oil and fuel oil from the United States to England. The pamphlet includes sections on loading, inspection of the steamers, wages, fire prevention, official forms, and more. Not in OCLC, or in the trade (as of November 2015). Old water stain to the covers, vertical crease to the booklet, penciled message on front cover, else a very good copy.
