First edition thus. 8vo. This is a revised and expanded edition of a small book titled Fighting Red Cloud's Warriors by the same author, published in 1926. Pictorial red cloth, titles stamped in black on the front cover and spine, xiii [blank], 353 pp., preface, frontispiece, illustrated, portraits. Laid-in to this copy is the original promotional prospectus for the book, Also laid-in are two typed and signed letters dated 1944 and 1945, from Brininstool and original mailing envelopes. In one letter he says that he cut down the last section of the old log stockade of Ft. Kearny and took it home in 1913. In the other letter Brininstool tells of knowing White Bull and says that he has the tomahawk White Bull carried and claimed to have killed two soldiers with it. He says he has a pipe once owned by Sitting Bull, plus other information about Standing Bull, books, etc. Book contains information on the Wagon Box Fight, the Buffalo Wallow Fight, Jim Bridger, Calamity Jane, Beecher Island Fight, the Pony Express, Indian Fights, etc. Fine, bright copy in price-clipped dust jacket with minor wear to the spine ends and corners.
