Other works by ELDORADO BOTTLING CO.

Publication: Privately manufactured, 1899, N P

Early 20th Century glass seltzer bottle with a heavy glass base and body and a metal siphon with the words "ELDORADO BOTTLING CO." printed on one side and "E. B. CO." stamped into the metal siphon. Approximately 11 3/4" tall and about 5" in diameter. Little is known about the Eldorado Bottling Company as they also went by the name of "Eldorado Bottling and Steam Laundry Co.," but according to an image found on the Yukon Archives Images database, the business began operating as early as 1899 in a log structure with a sign marked "Eldorado Bottling and Steam Laundry Co.," in Dawson City. The first mention of the soda company in the Historic Yukon & Alaska Hotels, Roadhouses, Saloons & Cafe Index is in 1901 and it appears to have operated with at least three different owners from 1899 to 1916. In the photograph from 1899 which shows a team of dogs pulling a cart of Eldorado bottles while workers look on, the style of the seltzer bottles seems to be exactly the same as this one. There is only one other known seltzer bottle in existence at the Dawson City Museum and Historical Society.
