This is a booklet of reprinted letters and articles from the Liberty Tribune from the 1880s about the Indian battles and experiences of Judge Joseph Thorpe beginning in 1810 along the Missouri River and in Clay County, Missouri. Hardships and experiences of early day pioneers to include building cabins in the wilderness, troubles in getting supplies, troubles with Indians, etc. Also discusses the early preachers and the first elections, Mormons and how Brigham Young became their leader. Lightly soiled and with bumps to corners of wrappers and with rubbing and small splits to top and bottom of spine. Very good.
