General description of Death Valley, its history, the borax mines, followed by descriptions and schedules and itineraries of various winter tours by rail and motor. 1-page map showing the Death Valley Tour via rail and motor; small strip map of Chicago & North Western Railway system. Large black and white photographs of various points of interest on every page. Pictures include Death Valley from Dante's View, Telescope Peak, Ryan, the community center at Death Valley Junction, Furnace Creek, Furnace Creek Ranch, ruins of the Harmony Borax Works, important buildings, etc. Although Death Valley would not become a National Monument until 1933, and a National Park until 1994, it was famous for being the hottest, driest and lowest location in the United States. Light wear to spine and to the extremities else a very good copy. This booklet contains much information on Death Valley and should not be overlooked as a source of information on Death Valley.
