Ninety photographs of the working cowboy taken during the early 1900s. Rector, who had been a cowboy on the XIT Ranch, took photographs beginning in 1902 of the ranch and its hands and also of neighboring ranch workers on the SMS Ranch, Mayfield Ranch, Andrew John Swenson and his son Rudolph, Flat Top Ranch, and Spur Ranch. Non-authorial gift inscription on the front fly leaf, else very good in dust jacket.
