Publication: The Clason Map Company, 1920, Chicago, Denver

Original color, pictorial, stiff wrappers, two folding maps (each affixed to the front and rear inside covers), 32 pp., illustrated. Rare pocket map and guide to Wyoming, published by Clason Map Company. The front map gives an overview of Wyoming state roads and distances, and on the verso is printed a mileage map of principal roads across the United States. The second map is slightly larger and much more detailed, shows not only roads and towns, but also outline counties and national forests, and delineates major geological features as well as significant oil fields. The text, in addition to providing traveler's information, indexes of significant towns, locations of services, contains an effusive promotional essay about Wyoming that touches on many of its major attractions and praises its growing agricultural and oil industries, with several photographic reproductions. We locate three institutional examples, at the University of Wyoming, the University of Idaho, and the Colorado School of Mines. Light wear and a light corner crease to top edge of front cover panel, two tiny areas at top margin of a few pages of a faint old water stain, a short separation at the head of the rear map, but both maps are generally in fine condition. Overall a very good copy.
