5 1/2" x 4" photograph, mount size 6 1/2" x 4 1/4" of a young May Lillie of about 17 years of age and her husband who was about 26 years old at the time. She wears her dress, leggings, and familiar decorated hat. He is dressed in a buckskin jacket, leather boots, hat and leaning on his shotgun. Gordon Lillie married young and petite May Manning in 1886. In 1888 the Lillies launched their own Wild West show: "Pawnee Bill’s Historic Wild West." May starred in the show as the “Champion Girl Horseback Shot of the West.” Fine, bright image.
