39 1/2" x 13 1/2" light yellow, linen-backed broadside advertising the Grand Exhibition of Texan Horses and Base Ball Match by the Actives and Rangers at Weymouth Trotting Park on Saturday, August 14th. Entertainment will include a running race with horses ridden by F.P. Clark, J.C. Heatley, and M(onroe)S(tafford) Ledenham, all Texas horsemen; a base ball match game between the Actives of South Weymouth vs. the Rangers of East Weymouth; J.C. Heatley, champion wild horse rider; and an auction of fine American stock horses raised by Mr. Ledenham of Bosque County, Texas, to include, "Sam, bay Stallion, full blood Leviathan, broken to harness and saddle." Tickets are 25 cents; carriages are 25 cents; and children are 15 cents. Purse for the base ball match game is $25. The exhibition is to be overseen by S.B. Tirrell, Sup't. Light water staining to edges; light soiling; tiny hole to one fold and 1/4" x 1" hole at another fold. Broadside is in original wood frame and museum mounted.
