Quarter leather spine and decorated paper over boards, title and decorations stamped in gold gilt on the front cover and spine, blue front and rear endpapers,, xvii, 125 pp., double column, frontispiece (portrait), illustrated, portraits, plates, diagrams, maps, index. Foldout map and foldout plan at the rear. This book celebrates the great engineering accomplishment of developing the pipe line from Iraq to both Palestine and Lebanon. At the time the company was not under duress to get the work done due to the glut of oil availability on the world market. But through the years into World War II and beyond, the decision to build the pipe line was a good one. Leather spine is rubbed and sunned, boards are moderately soiled and rubbed, but the binding is strong and solid and the book is internally clean and bright for an overall very good copy of a scarce item.
