9" x 6" in peach colored pictorial wrappers showing an illustration of a saddle on front wrapper. 178 pp. Illustrations. Index. Al Furstnow worked for Ernest Goettlich in Miles City, Montana in 1884. Later that same year Furstnow opened his own saddle shop and Charles Coggshell became a partner in 1890. In 1895 the partnership split their saddle shops sat side by side in Miles City. Al Furstnow became one of the premiere saddle makers in Montana. His saddle were so well known, that cowboys of the period would referred to their rig as their “Furstnow.” Miles City was a terminal for the free open range and cowboys from the Texas and Oregon cattle drives.
