25 black and white photographs of various sights in Panama to include a birds eye view of Panama, the ruins of Poto Bello, the President's Palace, the cathedral at Panama, the Canal Building, the hospital at Ancon, a dynamite blast, the Culebra Hotel, Culebra, a reservoir at Rio Grande, the Chagres River, ruins of Old Panama, De Lessepps house at Cristobal, Culebra street scene, etc. All photographs with title and number printed on front and with stamp, "W.A. Fishbaugh, Photographer, Empire, C.Z. Panama" on back of each picture. William Fishbaugh was an American commercial photographer who set up his photography business in Panama during the construction of the Panama Canal. From there, Fishbaugh moved to Florida, originally in Tampa and later in Miami. The photographs are lightly soiled and worn, though the images are clean and clear. In addition to the collection of photos by W.A. Fishbaugh, there are 6 photographs by an unknown photographer.These pictures include men standing on dredging machine, a steam engine and a family standing outside a home. These pictures are also lightly soiled and with light wear to edges. A great collection of photographs taken in early 20th century Panama.
