Publication: William Henry Jackson Photographer, n d (ca 1882), N P Denver
Cabinet card. Albumen photograph 11 x 18 cm. [4 1/2" x 7"] unmounted. Title is the negative at the bottom. View of a Denver, South Park & Pacific (DSP&P) engine and cars, atop the Breckenridge High Line (elevation 9600') likely shortly after the lines completion in 1882. William Henry Jackson (1843-1942) was one of the most prolific (and maybe the most famous) of Western photographers. During his lengthy career, Jackson photographed numerous views of the West between Nebraska and California, from cliff dwellings to industrial urban centers. A small crease to the lower right corner, else an interesting photograph with nice contrasts.
