18 1/2" x 15" framed pictorial broadside, printed in black & white, with an unusual border of small corn stalk cutters. The broadside says in part: "Have for sale, all sizes of STEVENS' Imported Cylinder, Hay Straw, and Corn Stalk Cutters. "The Knives being very strong, and set in a sloat, and having additional supports, makes the cutting apparatus, as well as the frame, the strongest yet produced. The new material used in the manufacture of the rolls is proved to be a very important improvement ---making them more durable, wearing the edge of the knives less, and not being affected by the action, either of a damp or very dry atmosphere." "Also for sale, an assortment of pure and genuine Field and Garden Seeds, Trees, Shrubs, Roots and Vines." They also point out there are twenty-eight sizes and patterns of corn cutters in a price range of $3.00 to $30.00. The corn stalk cutter advertised here is a predecessor to advanced forms of silage cutters in use today. Framed with some faint, old fold creases in very good attractive condition. We have not inspected this item outside of the current frame.
