Publication: Harper and Row, 1974, New York
First edition. Has the number "1" in the sequence at the bottom of the last page. Signed by the author. Author's third and last novel. Fine in dust jacket. A family's idyllic stay in a Long Island house quickly turns to horror. The family notices that there are lots of strays, abandoned by inconsiderate tourists before they head back to their homes. Then, the stray cats begin to attack. The attacks start out small, but quickly escalate to terror. Who knew that cats could provide a good base for such a terrifying novel? Writer is better known for his factual accounts of medical detection. Full page endorsement from Ross Macdonald on the rear dust jacket panel.
